- I just got a new USR Sportster 33.6 and I'm having problems downloading
- large files. It starts out well but after a short time the data transfer
- rate starts to drop. I know this is fairly normal but the disturbing
- thing is that there are frequent and long pauses, sometimes minutes, when
- there is no data transfer at all. After the pause the modem once again
- resumes its download. Do I have something set up wrong? I've been using
- the standard initialization string (with only the speaker turned off) and
- I'm wondering if someone knows of a setting change which might improve this
- modems performance.
-
- Any help greatly appreciated!
